KVM extenders are devices designed to extend the distance between a keyboard, monitor and mouse and a computer.

The Fibre Optic DisplayPort 1.2 KVM Extender is an efficient and reliable solution for transmitting high-quality 4K DisplayPort signals over distances up to 300m using a standard LC fibre cable. DisplayPort 1.2 support allows transmission of detailed 3840×2160@60Hz resolutions - perfect for eye-catching digital signage or detailed content in medical installations.

The extender supports lossless audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD to accompany videos with multi-channel sound and a special viewing experience. USB-KM connectivity via 3 USB HID ports allows remote control of a DisplayPort PC with keyboard and mouse on the receiver. This allows the PC to be placed in a safe environment with controlled temperature while delivering video content from the display source without interruption. LC fiber optic cables between the transmitter and receiver provide a reliable and inexpensive connection over longer distances than copper cables, and are particularly suited for use in environments that are electromagnetically contaminated or noisy, such as factory floors or medical facilities.

The transmitter can be connected to many DisplayPort source devices such as laptops or PCs at a suitable location, the receiver can be connected up to 300m away to a large format display (LFD), monitor or projector. This flexibility provides a suitable system for various applications such as lectures, CAD systems or remote server management.
The integrated EDID function guarantees maximum compatibility with the display on the receiver.

Please note that the Lindy SFP+ 10GBase-LR/LW LC Single Mode Modules (25038) can be used as an alternative to the included Mini GBIC Multi-Mode LC Modules. This increases the range of the extender to 500m (1640.4ft).
