The 4K Over IP extender system allows the extension of a 4K video source, e.g. a PC or a set-top box, via a Gigabit IP network. The extender system is controlled remotely via the extended USB interface. This receiver can be connected to a transmitter (No. 38266 - not included) to set up a standard point-to-point system with maximum distances up to 100m (393ft). The transmitter can also be connected to multiple receivers so that a single unit can be controlled from different consoles on the receiver side. Also a video wall can be set up with a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet switch (supporting 8kB jumbo frames) on the same private network.
Besides the audio signal embedded in HDMI, there are two other audio channels (one audio output from the source and one for connecting a microphone on the opposite side) and an optical SPDIF port on the receiver to connect a digital audio device or amplifier.

The HDMI Over IP extender system has a convenient bi-directional IR amplifier system (20-60Khz), which enables the extension of remote control signals.
This device is a typical solution for security management systems (control rooms or control rooms), remote server management (through the KVM control system) or extension of AV signals over IP for monitoring industrial facilities. Another important application is large video wall installations (up to 16×16 screens) for digital signage and in retail stores.
