IP extenders enable reliable extension of the signal range of AV signals over an IP network connection. They allow point-to-point connections as well as one-to-many, many-to-many or mixed configurations when used in combination with network switches. Using existing IP infrastructure provides a cost-effective option for scalable extender solutions.

The HDMI & IR IP Extender offers such a cost-effective way to extend the signal range over the distances of an existing local network.

The HDMI & IR IP Receiver is a cost-effective complementary solution for existing Lindy HDM & IR IP extender systems (No. 38126), which can be expanded into scalable AV signal distribution solutions by using multiple receiver units in combination with network switches. Used as a point-to-point connection, the extender system (No. 38126) bridges distances of up to 100m via a Cat.6 cable. In combination with a network switch, even greater distances can be covered, namely up to 3 network segments. In such a scenario, additional receivers can be added to create very flexible setups, for example to show AV content on displays at several remote locations at the same time. Ideal for a wide range of applications in the retail sector, connected office or for installations in the training or education sector.
For "one-to-many" and "many-to-many" setups, a managed switch is required to distribute the network data streams.

With its support for Full HD up to 1920×1080@60Hz 4:4:4 8bit, the extender transmits high-resolution AV content in high quality, applicable for example for digital signage displays as eye-catchers, for powerful installations in the home area or for AV signal distribution in the hospitality industry. The integrated IR support gives the user the possibility to control the connected source device via its IR remote control. An IR receiver cable is included with the receiver.

Please note: To ensure that the high bandwidth demands on the network caused by video transmissions do not affect the rest of the network traffic, the system should be used either in a dedicated network or in networks with switches equipped for port-based VLAN connections.

Please note: The transmission of HDMI over IP networks in Full HD resolutions with 1080p requires the use of perceptible, since lossy compression algorithms. Presentations and static images are therefore subject to losses roughly comparable to those of compression of standard JGP images.
