Creation of interactive audio presentations with sensor input

Learn how to switch audio between multiple devices while maintaining a seamless and smooth audio stream. In the video, we demonstrate the features of the XC audio controllers and provide application ideas for project integration.

Consider XC audio switching when integrating:

  • Side-by-side comparisons of audio devices in interactive presentations in retail. For example, in the presentation of speakers, headphones or soundbars for in-store designs.
  • Interactive experiences in which the Sound comes from different directions and either activated by the visitors' input and/or redirected.
  • Lighting effects connected to an audio device or audio stream.

Audio device comparison

When presenting the performance of speakers, headphones or soundbars in a retail environment, audio files can be played through one or more audio devices simultaneously. Switching between the presented audio devices allows the user to experience the sound performance of each device, and can be done with any Nexmosphere input sensor. For example with Pushbuttons, AirButtons or Proximity sensors. This allows complete design freedom and a free hand in defining the customer experience with the product display.

User activated sound from multiple directions

If you're working in a larger space, you can give input to the user of your interactive presentation (such as a museum or pop-up exhibit visitor) by using sensors to launch and direct sound effects around the room. These can come from different directions by placing speakers throughout the room to create an immersive sound experience.

Light effects tied to the audio device or audio stream

Highlighting of the active speaker by LED control via the same controller that switches between audio output devices. The XC Range offers compact controllers that enable both audio switching and control of connected LEDs. By combining the two functions, you can highlight merchandise, point out features, and engage your audience.

Do you need more function combinations or larger systems?

If projects require combinations of analog and optical outputs, more than four audio switching channels, or more than eight sensor ports, our modular XM controllers are better suited for your project. The XM (Xperience Modules) and EM (Extension Modules) are standard modules that we combine and assemble in our factory exactly according to your project requirements.
