Touchless UI for digital signage: Navigate, select and rate using hand gestures
Nexmosphere's new XV HandGesture sensor makes interactive storefront applications a breeze. After Nexmosphere presented the sensor at ISE in Barcelona, it is finally available from our internal warehouse. The new sensor is designed for use in shop windows and allows you to create interactive experiences that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Familiar gestures such as thumbs up and pointing allow the implementation of user-friendly applications without adding too much complexity to the digital signage application. Content navigation through hand gestures
The XV hand gesture sensor is particularly suitable for applications in which consumers should be able to navigate through the content in the digital signage applications without touching it. A perfect example of a corresponding application is the shop window of a real estate agent. Due to the regularly changing content, digital signage is particularly suitable for such businesses. Other use cases would be, for example, the presentation of different fashion styles or menu offers with which passers-by can interact. Accordingly, there are no limits to creativity.
Selecting and evaluating through the positioning of the hand
In addition to gesture recognition, the new Nexmosphere sensor can also track the position of a person's hand and send an API command to the media player when that hand enters a predefined activation zone. This feature can be used to create fun and easy-to-use digital applications in public spaces. Like, for example, this rating solution in the window of a wine retailer:
Content triggering in the CMS
Every time the sensor detects a hand movement or when a hand enters an activation zone, a standard API command is sent to the media player to trigger content from the content management system.
Nexmosphere hardware can be connected in most digital signage CMS with just a few clicks. No drivers, cloud connections or Nexmosphere licenses are required.
